NEVER
SPOKEN
Never Spoken is a hypothetical event at NGMA Delhi, celebrating the genius of R.K. Laxman. The name comes from his most iconic creation—the Common Man, who has seen it all but never spoken a word. Through sharp wit and humor, Laxman’s cartoons captured the pulse of Indian society, politics, and everyday struggles.
For this event, I’ve designed various collaterals that bring his world to life, placing the Common Man in unspoken yet powerful situations—just as Laxman always did.

RK LAXMAN
R.K. Laxman masterfully crafted the Common Man as a symbol of millions of ordinary Indians—those who silently endure the absurdities of everyday life and the injustices of a flawed system. Dressed in a simple, striped coat with a bewildered look, the Common Man never spoke a word, yet his wide-eyed expressions screamed louder than any protest.

MULTIFOLD INVITE

This invite highlights the irony of democracy—where the Common Man remains stuck in the same struggles, while government officials grow in power, fame, and influence, often doing little to uplift him. It visually represents the widening gap between those in power and the everyday citizen, just as R.K. Laxman portrayed in his timeless cartoons.

COFFEE TABLE BOOK
This coffee table book is a tribute to R.K. Laxman, showcasing his life, art, and the timeless Common Man. But it’s not pristine—ink blots and stray sketches reveal my failed attempts to be like him. As a true fan, I meddled with the book, leaving behind messy proof of admiration. This isn’t just about him—it’s for him.
